Hales Home Care is thrilled to announce that Helen Thorpe, Registered Manager for our Leeds service, has been nominated for the Leeds Quality in Care Awards 2024.

The awards have been created to celebrate excellence because of the hard work, innovation, commitment and compassion of individuals and organisations in registered social care services across Leeds. They have provided an opportunity to recognise and celebrate those who really make a difference to people’s lives, who go the extra mile to help others and contribute to our communities.

Nicola Mewse, Group Managing Director at Hales, expressed her support for Helen’s nomination: “We are delighted to see Helen recognised. She truly represents the best in care by supporting her team and providing high-quality home care across Leeds.”

Helen joined Hales in 2017 as a Senior Care Coordinator and was promoted to Registered Manager in January 2023. She has built a strong, committed team, always striving for the highest standards of care. Helen also actively supports the local community, from helping local sports teams to volunteering and supporting food bank collections. She is a true asset to Hales and embodies our values in every way.

Helen shared her excitement, saying: “I am thrilled to be nominated for ‘Registered Manager of the Year.’ It’s truly an honour to be recognised, and it means so much to me. I want to thank all my care workers and office staff for turning up to work every day and working so hard to support all the service users we look after, ensuring that they are safe, and cared for in a person-centred way, enabling them to live at home as they desire.”

This nomination not only recognises Helen’s contributions but also highlights the importance of quality care within Leeds. As a nominee, Helen’s dedication has been acknowledged by peers, managers, colleagues, and service users – a testament to her impact on those around her.

Hales Home Care is immensely proud of Helen’s nomination and thanks her for her unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of people we support in Leeds.
